The BBE Store was today singled out by GQ Magazine as one of ‘the coolest things to do in London’ this weekend.

Congratulations to all our lovely and hard working staff- you earned it!

“Hidden under the railway arches in London Fields is a little known, but thriving, social spot called The Institute of Light, home to an independent cinema, restaurant and bar. After over 20 years in the business, music label BBE (Barely Breaking Even) now has a permanent vinyl store here. Stocking an expertly curated selection of funk, rare groove, jazz and soul, this vinyl treasure trove includes BBE’s well-known multi-genre compilations, new series and original classics, such as BBE’s release of innovative producer J Dilla’s debut solo venture Welcome 2 Detroit, as well as stellar artist contributions from the likes of Roy Ayers. Pick up a drink and have a dig.”
