The global #MeToo movement has impacted all our lives in recent years, heralding winds of change through much-needed and long-overdue questioning. Badi’s writing has not escaped these questions, and it felt important for him to put forward this track as the final single from album Trouble-Fête.
On this Afro-centric track, Badi’s voice is complimented beautifully by Belgian singer Kooffeey and the legendary Zap Mama, while Blck Mamba provides a punchy, dancehall-influenced remix.
The video that accompanies ‘Me Too’ is directed by photographer/videographer Agnes Kena. It highlights women from the Brussels cultural and entrepreneurial scene, all close to Badi’s network: Rokia Bamba (DJ and sound artist), Alix Hammond-Merchant (artist manager), Luna Gillet (sound engineer), Lisette Lombé (poet and visual artist), Anne-Sophie Oudin (producer and artistic director) and Nadine Minampala (consultant and coach-trainer).
