Description

Following up on the runaway success of their debut, ‘Oba’, which enjoyed support from Kenny Dope, Laurent Garnier, Danny Krivit, Josh Milan and Ron Trent, among others, London production duo Deep Tenor City return with 2 new tracks, and their distinctive sound: real instruments and complex percussion – for the dancefloor. Opening track ‘Fireheart’ begins with a 21st century disco-house-fusion feel, with a boogie baseline and poignant stabs. Astounding live percussion takes the track toward a climax, which will surely light up any dance-floor.
Second track ‘The Present’, a collab with NYC’s Antonio Ocasio, brings together lush, haunting chords, complex percussion from Oli Savill and José Claussell, intriguing spoken word vocals, and clever interplay between rhodes and flute solos.
With ‘Oba’ sold out in stores and highly sought after on Discogs less than 12 months after its vinyl release, it’s worth snapping this gem of a follow-up when it drops.
