Description

In general, whenever someone starts a sentence with the phrase, ‘I don’t mean to be rude’, you should be worried, brace yourself for some low down and dirty rudeness or run for the hills like a p***y.

In this case, Spoek Mathambo is inviting you to join in on the dirty fun with the third single ‘Don’t Mean To Be Rude’ from his debut album ‘Mshini Wam’. The South African wunderkind is bringing the rudeness via an accelerated skank courtesy of London bass rangers LV (most widely known for their epic releases on Hyperdub). Canadian avant soul singer Zaki Ibrahim. plays the co-conspirator on the bassy nugget adding something sweet to Spoek’s gutter mouth party song.

Levels go peak with an allstar team of remixers… Yep, we went for Olympic Gold on this one! UK bass music impresario, Scratcha DVA (UK, Hyperdub – Rinse FM), froggy party killers, Toadally Krossed Out (USA, Mad Decent) and French club ambassador, Don Rimini (FR, Mental Groove) brought in the medals with their club remixes.

I don’t mean to be rude, but the music video of Don’t Mean To Be Rude features some of Johannesburg’s grimiest erotic dancers shaking their thick backs; a rigged dice match against the devil and a little dominatrix display…African style!!!

I don’t mean to be rude but if you don’t cop this one…you’re just not living right!!
