When the Sick Girls played together for the first time at the bar floor of Tresor Club Berlin in August 2004 it was just for the fun of it.
None of the girls would have thought that they would become the successful DJ team they are now. With years and years of club- and Techno- knowledge under their belts, they were rather well known for pulling the strings of Berlin club biz, than for setting the dance floors on fire themselves.
But the time was right for a new style of club music and this is what they stand for!
The Sick Girls skilfully combine the most banging, bouncing and bassy tunes of all means and electronic: Bmore, Electro, Hip Hop, Crunk, Baile Funk, Grime, Nu Rave, Tropical, Bashment, Dubstep, UK Bass, Uk Funky and the likes. With this heavy mixture of the latest underground & major releases alike, they proof that broken beats, maximum bass and MC mayhem can create just as much pumping energy on the dancefloor as the usual 4×4 rave. By using a laptop as well as vinyl and CDs, they are right at the source of the most thrilling new tunes. The Sick Girls will always prefer an uncommon and explosive show to an over-perfectionist but lukewarm performance. They can’t hide the buzz they feel while playing their favourite music – they got to go crazy behind the turntables…

With their very own party series “Revolution N°5” at WMF club, 103 Club, Festsaal Kreuzberg and Picknick Club, they started to bring all those artists and styles together that they so enthusiastically promote in their DJ sets. 2005 – 2009 has seen legendary nights presenting German ill-rockers Deichkind throwing sofas into the crowd, 17-year-old school kids from East London spitting dirty Grime all over the place, half-naked Brasilian MCs shouting at the audience and a long-limbed Black Barbie lying down on the stage.
Now in the end of 2009 they have already played with an amazing part of the major artists their scene produced (see list below) and continue to do so in the future.
They produce a wide range of events from underground basement parties to festival stages or art fair openings.

In May 06 the Sick Girls have been invited to represent new German DJ culture in Beiing as part of the I’mpulse Festival.
In early 2008 their highly acclaimed first mix-CD “Shotgun Wedding” on Violent Turd, a sublabel of Tigerbaet 6, had been released.

Moreover they have hosted and curated their own tent at Splash! Festival – one of Germany’s biggest Hip Hop festivals – in cooperation with well known music magazine Intro for 4 years in a row, bringing together artists like Wiley, The Mitchell Brothers, Bonde do Role, RJD2, Roll Deep, Jahcoozi, Cunnin Lynguists, Buraka Som Sistema, Dizzee Rascal and many more. In 2009 the Sick Girls took part in the general programming of Splash Festival, and booked acts like Peaches, Lady Sovereign, Roots Manuva, Boys Noize, Amanda Blank, Alter Ego, Stanton Warriors and many of the most interesting newcomers to create a unique and forward thinking festival. Splash! 2010 is already in the making!

2010 will also see the second mix CD of the Sick Girls to be released on the prestigious BBE Records label.
