Emilie Nana

Originally from Lyon – France, the self-made woman started producing at the age of 19 releasing a dozen of tracks on fine small underground labels such Compost, Third Ear, Stattmusik, Raoul and St Vitus. Encouraged by the guiding ear of her musical mentor Glenn Underground from Chicago, she is still working nights and days on her tight and uncompromising signature sound.

Emilie Nana’s musical background reaches from her mother’s mix tapes of Larry Levans genre defining sets at the Paradise Garage, her Noble Art champion father’s 7″ and 12 ” inches collection of Negro Spiritual, Funk & Raggae. To hip-hop and drug fused mix sessions by Ricardo
Villalobos playing eternally at Zürich’s Dachkantine.

Only few can claim to navigate as effortless between American, African and European music as she does. Her musical tastes have led her to DJ alongside Michael Reinboth, Jonny Rock, Butane, Chez Damier, Keith Worthy, i-Robots, Woodkid, Manoo, Juan Atkins, Eddie “Flashin“ Fowlkes, King Britt, Atjazz, Zepherin Saint, Osunlade, Boo Williams, Igor Vicente, Octave One, among many others…
